But I need to eat the pie… Why must they try to stop me?
I hope you all enjoy the game! Don’t give up, there’s an ending scene that makes it all worth while. I might someday write more games, but free time has not been kind to me.

Judge’s Comments

Michael: Pie takes perfect advantage of this 4k format. You play a dot. You need to outsmart the red dots, which are spiky and evil, and get to the pie. Everyone loves pie. Using a turn-based movement format, you need to outsmart the red dots by shifting blocks and moving smartly around the level in your quest for pie. There are actual levels, and not just randomly generated enemies of environments, and I had a blast with this game.

Chris: Great puzzle game. Smooth looks and controls. Must’ve been a squeeze on the gameplay code too, because all the levels are in arrays!

Panayoti: An excellent Sokoban style game. Looks great and plays well, though some of the level designs are borderline sadistic. That being said, the level designs are really impressive and it’s easy to forget that this is simply a 4k game! I got stumped on level 12 or 13. Could someone post a walk through? :) Really great game! Loved it.

haha, “Fin” — nice. :) Well done! Thoroughly enjoyed the game — it was really tough at times (that last level was driving me batty). You really understood your game very well — I’m impressed at the level of puzzles that you were able to come up with. I think the “4k” level was perhaps my favorite, in that the solution felt more non-traditional than many of the other levels (or perhaps that was only the solution that I had found). Loved the tweening everywhere, and how movement didn’t wait for the tweens to finish — it was just really easy to control. Saved progress would be fantastic (it’s a bit long to play through in one sitting), but even so, this is a fantastic game, and expect it placed near the top of the pack (somewhat surprised it’s not in the top 2). Great job on a top notch product! Definitely one of the more natural feeling games in the contest.

  2. I made a level creator for it http://www.nbilyk.com/pie-level-creator If anybody wants to make some non-4k games with me, let me know. I don’t have time for anything serious, but I like to fiddle every once in a while on things like this.
