Thanks to the Fulton brothers for turning me onto this competition, and of course to Urbansquall for sponsoring it. 4k is a fantastic limitation.
Judge’s Comments
Michael: This is another title that is well served by its stylistic minimalism. This is Missile Command like it was back in the arcades, when you had to actually prompt not only where to fire, but which of your silos would be firing the shot. Controlling the aiming location with the mouse and firing source with the keyboard is tricky, but rewarding to master. This is the kind of game that you’ll feel very good about once you master it, because it’s tricky. Well done.
Chris: It’s missile command. Almost a perfect recreation. Great work.
Panayoti: Retro gameplay in a minimal but aesthetically pleasing package. The choose-target press S/D/F mechanism pretty much destroyed me, but otherwise I found it to be quite enjoyable.
