Author’s Readme

Hello! I’m a new game developer in the scene and this is my second attempt producing something playable. I have two games ready to be released: one is a “bigger” version of this game, and the otherone is a tribute to SKyRoads. This 4kPillars is a senseless 3d run on a spherical world avoiding blocks that are trying to crash into your ship. Designing my games I focus most on the feeling with the player, so I spent near all the 4k trying to supply the ship and the camera with smooth movements to give immediate satisfying feedback to the player. I hope you enjoy playing the game as much as I enjoyed brainstorming on it!

Judge’s Comments

Michael: 4K Pillars is pretty ridiculous. A 3D flight game with smooth graphics and control, a viewing angle that changes based on elevation and… blink blink… an actual dynamic shadow! Yikes. It seemed to me that I was more likely to beat myself than the game was to cause me to crash, but that doesn’t change what an impressive feat this title is.

Chris: Amazing. Not the kind of thing I was expecting. Game is fun and challenging and I liked that it is possible to ’scrape’ some of the pillars and not die instantly, shows attention to detail. Oh yeah, and the 3d engine in under 4k! Wow!

Panayoti: Wow. Impressive 3d visuals with challenging dodger gameplay. The ship even casts a shadow! It doesn’t have the gameplay longevity of some of the other entries, but visually this is a real beauty.
